Email file attachments

Email file attachments don't always work.  We know a better way.

It's not uncommon that when you want to send someone a file, like a PDF, ZIP file, or a Word file, that the file doesn't arrive the way you intended.  The destination's email box might be full and ends up bouncing the email back with an error message.  Firewalls and/or email spam filters might either reject the email, or make it impossible for the person to open the attachment.  On more than one occasion, we've seen hotmail simply drop emails into thin air.  Sympatico often incorrectly reports viruses on zip files that have no viruses.  Are people supposed to never use common programs like Winzip anymore?  One workaround is to remove the file extension and tell the receiver to put it back.  But once that becomes common practice, virus makers will piggyback on that, and next thing you know attachment will be forbidden altogether.

You can bypass all these problems by using your website to facilitate file transfers.  Instead of attaching the file in the email, upload it to your website, and send a link to the file in your email.  The other way around, if your clients want to send you files, let them upload their files to your website as well.

You can manage files using the file management tools in our Content Management System both ways, from you to your client, and from your client to you, securely and reliably.
